Burnout among Physicians at Medical Departments in Benghazi-Libya

Abstract Background Burnout syndrome is recognized as a global issue, and medical practice stressful, healthcare workers are found to be burnt out exhausted very soon, which reflected negatively on the staff well-being, patients' outcome, overall organizational performance. Aim This study planned assess magnitude of burnout among physicians in Benghazi-Libya. Methods cross-sectional was carried 2020 total 150 working at different departments internal medicine The Maslach Inventory collection instrument used three components syndrome: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment. High scores exhaustion depersonalization low accomplishment indicative high burnout. statistical analyses data were performed using SPSS version 21. level significance considered p-value less than 0.05. Results 60% respondents females 40% males. About 14.7% had 92% 87.3% scores. Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between gender Alternatively, association degree certificate moderate- high-level more prevalent MBCHB participants those with masters board degrees.
